FAQ for RC Boat Batteries

A: Water creates significantly more drag than air or land. A boat’s motor must work much harder, drawing a very high and continuous current to achieve and maintain high speeds. A high-C battery can deliver this current without overheating or suffering from significant voltage drop.

A: We can build battery packs in sealed hard cases that are highly water-resistant. However, for full submersion safety, we always recommend ensuring the boat’s internal electronics compartment is fully waterproofed by the manufacturer.

A: For a new custom design, our MOQ typically starts at 20,000 to 50,000 units, depending on the complexity of the hard case and cell volume.

A: Yes, many high-power boats use two identical packs run in series (to double the voltage, e.g., two 4S packs to make 8S) or in parallel (to double the capacity). We provide precisely matched packs for this purpose.

A: It is extremely important. Low IR means the battery runs cooler and delivers more power to the motor instead of wasting it as heat. In the confined space of a boat’s hull, keeping heat down is critical for the safety and longevity of all electronics.

A: After the design is finalized, which includes the hard case mold design, the lead time for the first batch of prototypes is generally 7-9 weeks.

A: You will need a quality LiPo balance charger that can handle the cell count (e.g., a 6S-capable charger for a 6S battery) and has the correct connector plug.

A: Yes. We will build the pack with the appropriate heavy-gauge, high-flex silicone wire and terminate it with your choice of high-current connector (XT90, EC5, etc.).

A: Yes, all our batteries are tested to UN38.3 standards for safe transport. We always recommend storing LiPo batteries in a fire-resistant bag or container in a cool, dry place.

A: Please provide the target voltage (e.g., 4S/14.8V), target capacity (mAh), required continuous C-Rating, maximum dimensions (or specific hard case size), the connector type, and your estimated annual volume.
