A: We achieve this through a combination of three factors: a cell chemistry with an extremely low self-discharge rate, a protection circuit with a micro-amp level quiescent current, and by working with you to ensure your device’s software and hardware are optimized for low power consumption.
A: For a new custom design, our MOQ typically starts at 50,000 to 100,000 units, reflecting the needs of high-volume consumer electronics.
A: Absolutely. This is a primary design consideration. Our batteries are rigorously tested to meet and exceed the highest international safety standards for in-home consumer electronics, such as UL and IEC 62133.
A: Shelf life is how long a battery can be stored and remain functional (critical for non-rechargeable or rarely charged devices). Cycle life is how many times a rechargeable battery can be charged and discharged before its capacity degrades significantly. We can optimize for either characteristic.
A: Yes, we can use a wide-temperature electrolyte formulation that allows our batteries to operate reliably in the hot temperatures of an attic or the cold temperatures of a garage.
A: After the design is finalized, the lead time for the first batch of prototypes is generally 4-6 weeks.
A: Yes. We can select a chemistry that balances low self-discharge for the long sleep periods with the ability to handle the high peak current required for data transmission.
A: You will need UN38.3 for transport, and depending on your market, a combination of IEC 62133, UL, CE, UKCA, and FCC (for the end device). We manage the battery-specific certifications for you.
A: Yes, this is a core strength. We excel at creating custom-shaped batteries that allow your industrial designers to prioritize aesthetics without compromising on battery life.
A: Please provide the target dimensions, required battery life (years) and/or capacity (mAh), voltage (3.7V), details about the device’s power consumption (average and peak), and your estimated annual volume.
